7 Trapping Regulations: No. 11 has been amended to read:
"Use snares for taking furbearing animals and timber wolves except in the Registered Trapline (RTL) Area and for beaver under ice in Open Areas. Special permits may be issued in exceptional circumstances. This does not include power snares that may be used in the Open Areas to take furbearers and wolves, but not black bears."

Lynx pelts are examined by fur grader Bill Gall, Conservation Officer Vic McNabb, Provincial Trapping Coordinator Bob Burns, trapper Jimmy Woods and Conservation Officer Barney Brown. Lynx reached their peak values in the mid-1970s and 1980s, and are still a prized species.
