1932 Olympics

The III Winter Olympic Games were opened on February 4, 1932 by the then Governor of New York, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The ice hockey tournament portion of the 1932 Winter Olympics included four teams: Canada, United States, Germany and Poland. The hockey games were scheduled to be played from February 4-13.

Canada played their opening game on February 4, 1932 against team U.S.A. The game was a tight match and went into overtime with the Canadian team finally scoring the winning goal. Then they faced the German team for the first time on February 6, and won that game as well. The next day they beat Poland with a score of 9-0. Their impressive winning steak continued with shutouts against Germany and Poland in games played on February 8 and 9.
