A Heroes’ Welcome

The Canadian team’s success at Lake Placid turned the little team from Winnipeg into international sporting heroes overnight. William and his team, the Winnipegs, were welcomed home as hometown and national heroes. Members of the Canadian team included: William Cockburn, Clifford Crowley, Albert Duncanson, George Garbutt, Roy Hinkel, Vic Lunquist, Norman Malloy, Walter Monson, Kenneth Moore, Romeo Rivers, Bullet Joe Simpson, Hugh Sutherland, Stanley Wagner and Aliston Wise.
