Winnipeggers attended the Celebrity Concert Series in several venues in the city including the Amphitheatre, the Playhouse Theatre and the Winnipeg Auditorium.

The Winnipeg Auditorium was built in 1931-1932 as a Depression era project. The Auditorium was opened in 1932 and served as the city's main concert hall and auditorium and also housed an art gallery, museum exhibits and meeting rooms.

In 1970, the City of Winnipeg sold the Auditorium to the Province of Manitoba. The building was renovated and officially reopened in 1975 as the Manitoba Archives Building. Today, the principal occupants of the building are the Archives of Manitoba and the Manitoba Legislative Library.
