Since its inception in 1927, and with the opening of its first concert at the Central Congregational Church, the Celebrity Concert Series became a key event within the Manitoba cultural community. In 1932, the concert series moved to the Winnipeg Auditorium where the opening concert, featuring baritone Lawrence Tibbett, was a huge success.
