About Us
A branch of Manitoba Science, Technology, Energy and Mines, Climate and Green Initiatives has the exciting and challenging responsibility for coordinating the Manitoba government's strategic framework for a green, prosperous, growing province arising out of the Green and Growing strategy. Our job is to develop, facilitate and coordinate climate change and green initiatives throughout the government. These initiatives include:
- promoting awareness, programs and funding opportunities for climate change action;
- facilitating partnerships between government and the Manitoba community to develop green initiatives that result in economic, environmental and social benefits;
- advancing climate change mitigation and adaptation research; and
- developing regional partnerships for climate change action.
