Waste

Recycling Household Waste Manitoba is improving its recycling programmes to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills and producing greenhouse gases. More and more Manitobans are adopting recycling as part of their daily lives.

As the supply and the market for recycled materials continue to grow, new approaches to administering waste reduction activities are needed. In Manitoba, new ways to enhance waste reduction are being worked on together with industry and communities. These will include the concept of producer responsibility, the need to address the growing issue of electronic waste and landfill biogas capture.
