Building Safer Communities: Be a Part of the Solution
Building Safer Communities Building Safer Communities

Stronger and safer communities are possible when government, communities and individuals work together. The Manitoba government, through the new department of Children and Youth Opportunities, wants to hear from families, youth and the community about how you can create greater opportunities for children and youth and prevent them from becoming involved in crime.

We think we all have a role to play. Tell us how you think we can work together to help Manitoba's young people realize their full potential. Share your views on the following questions:

  1. Government has a range of programs for children, youth and families (stay in school programs, mentors for youth, supporting parents) - which of these types of programs help prevent crime?
  2. How are programs or resources in your community providing kids positive alternatives to crime?
  3. What can you/your organization/your community do to prevent crime?

A conversation about crime prevention

We think the best and brightest ideas are formed when we all share our thoughts and experiences. You can join the conversation about creating opportunities for youth and preventing crime in our communities by sending us an email, completing the online form below or writing to us at the Crime Prevention Branch, 1505-405 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3L6.
