Responsibilities Before School Starts

Here is a listing of the steps that you should take prior to arranging you time spent in school training.

  1. You will receive your Technical Training Notice 10 to 12 weeks before school starts.
  2. Talk to your employer as soon as you have your Notice, and arrange time off work to attend technical training.
  3. Expect to receive a Statement of Tuition Fees from your College. Complete and return this form to the College, along with your tuition fee.
  4. Establish an Employment Insurance claim. You will need your Record of Employment to begin. Contact your present and past employers for this information.
  5. Contact your Apprenticeship Training Coordinator to let them know you are registered for technical training.
  6. Arrange to have money available to pay for books, shop supplies and safety equipment.
