For a person who want to be a certified trade journeyperson,
apprenticeship training offers paid on-the-job learning
and sponsored technical training. An employer pays an apprentice
an incremental, industry-established wage while learning
on the job. The Apprenticeship Branch sponsors an apprentice's
technical training at school.

Mentorships |
Under Manitoba Mentorships, employers are eligible to receive
a wage incentive to assist in the creation of new positions.
Employers who are able to provide an average of 8 to 16
hours per week of part-time career-related employment experiences
during the school term are eligible to receive wage incentives
for up to 200 hours of employment.

| Senior
Years Apprenticeship Option |
The Senior Years Apprenticeship Option links Senior Years
students still in school with employers who own trade-related
businesses and can train promising young workers part-time
employment. Employers hiring Senior Years apprentices may
be eligible for a student wage subsidy through the government's
Career Focus Program.
