Jobs will be identified by contractors once construction begins. In general, training for construction jobs falls into areas such as:

• Designated Trades:
  - carpenters, electricians, ironworkers, plumbers, millwrights
• Non-Designated Trades:
  - heavy equipment operators
  - teamsters
  - labourers
• Construction Supports:
  - catering
  - security
• Technical/Professional
• Business/Management

Accessing Training

Training under the Hydro Northern Training and Employment Initiative is managed by the northern First Nations or Manitoba Métis Federation. Individuals affiliated with any of these organizations should contact them for details of training and eligibility.

Other interested Manitobans should contact their local Employment Manitoba Centre.

Wuskwatim Job Referral Service

On behalf of Manitoba Hydro, the provincial government’s Employment Manitoba Division has developed a job referral service that refers qualified workers to Wuskwatim project contractors.

Individuals wanting work on the Wuskwatim project can register in person with any of the Employment Manitoba Centres across Manitoba or with an authorized registration agency.
