Recognition of Prior Learning

picture of a recording studioThe prior learning experiences, gained formally or informally, of an organization's employees are of value. Recognition of this prior learning can reduce training and certification time, motivate employees to access further training and credentials and help organizations understand the full skill capabilities of their human resources.

IWD advocates the Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) approach to identify, assess and recognize what a person knows and can do. We will consult with business, labour and government, and co-ordinate PLAR development projects as well as PLAR training activities.

Learn how Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition activities can benefit your workplace or organization. (pdf format)
