Financial Assistance

Apprenticeship

For a person who wants to be a certified trade journeyperson, apprenticeship training offers paid on-the-job learning and sponsored technical training. An employer pays an apprentice an incremental, industry-established wage while learning on the job. The Apprenticeship Branch sponsors an apprentice's technical training at school.

Official Languages Programs for Students

Students wishing to study French either within or outside Manitoba can apply for a number of programs offering financial assistance and employment opportunities.

Official Languages Programs for Teachers

Are you a teacher wanting to learn or improve your French language skills and wish to receive financial assistance to do so? Study French in Manitoba or outside the province! The opportunity is yours.

Senior Years Apprenticeship Option

The Senior Years Apprenticeship Option links regular school instruction for S3 and S4 students with paid, part-time on-the-job apprenticeship training. Employers hiring Senior Years apprentices may be eligible for a student wage subsidy through the government's Career Focus Program.

Student Aid

Manitobans with limited finances can achieve their educational goals by applying to Manitoba Student Aid for supplemental assistance for post-secondary studies. The Program provides full and part-time federal and provincial loans, grants, and bursaries, for studies within Manitoba, out-of-province, or out-of-country.

Student Loan Repayment

This site provides information on repayment schedules, interest relief and debt reduction for Manitoba Student Loans.

Young Entrepreneurs

Offers unemployed youth a grant to encourage them to start their own full-time businesses.
