Manitoba Business Mission to Mexio, September 21 to 24, 2009

Mexico continues being the fourth largest export market for Manitoba companies. In 2008, the total trade between Manitoba and Mexico was of over CAD $681 million. The two way trade between Canada and Mexico amounted to more than CAD $ 24 billion in the same year.

Manitoba Trade is organizing a business mission to Mexico visiting two key cities: Monterrey and Guadalajara.

Guadalajara

Guadalajara has one of the most dynamic electronic and manufacturing sectors in Mexico. The Chamber of the Electronic Industry in Jalisco organizes a yearly Business Forum called Provelec. This business forum serves as an opportunity for suppliers and OEMs and EMS to meet. Some of the companies supporting and participating in this event are: HP, Texas Instruments, Continental, among others.
More information on this event is available at: www.provelec.com.mx

Monterrey

Monterrey is a vibrant city and home to a dynamic manufacturing sector in Northern Mexico. Manufacturing represented 24.1 % of the total state’s GDP in 2008. Companies in this sector are focused in the production of electrical equipment, electronics, electrical motors, household appliances and auto parts,  among others. Nuevo Leon is home to some of the most important companies in Latin America such as Cemex (cement), Femsa (largest bottled drinks company in Latin America) and Grupo Alfa (petrochemicals, autoparts and food).

Manitoba Trade will assist you by setting up a working agenda for you in both, Guadalajara (in coordination with Provelec's organizers) and Monterrey. Also, there will be assistance with language interpretation for your meetings. You will also learn more about resources that will help you in your follow up to the mission.

Please See attached general program for your information.
