Expression of Interest
Canadian PSLO Mission to South America
(Ecuador, Panama and Peru)
February 2008
As part of the Canadian Private Sector Liaison Officer (PSLO) Network's efforts in assisting companies identify, pursue and develop international project opportunities with the International Financial Institutions, an initiative is being planned for a Multi-Sector Mission to Peru, Panama and Ecuador in February 2008. Brazil and Argentina are possible program additions.
Program
There is growing recognition among Canadian corporations that the various International Financial Institutions (IFIs) offer substantial opportunities for Canadian companies in the procurement of goods and services on international projects. Specifically, there are growing opportunities in the areas of Health, Environment, Education and Water in many South American countries through Inter-American Development Bank and World Bank programs and projects.
The mission will include group briefings, one-on-one meetings, business partnering and networking events for the companies attending and key bank staff and project contacts. This mission will be of interest to companies interested in contracting with IFIs for existing projects and who have the desire to explore new opportunities within bank initiatives.
All companies who participate will be expected to pay their own costs and a registration fee of $300. Participation in the mission includes:
- customized mission programs with itineraries based on your company's sector of interest;
- networking opportunities with key project staff and other Canadian firms;
- biefing and briefing book prior to the mission; and
- assistance in booking accommodations and logistical support in planning the mission.
