Invitation to participate in an
ENERGY FOCUSSED MISSION
to WASHINGTON, DC
September 25th — 28th, 2007
This mission, organized by Canadian Private Sector Liaison Officer (PSLO) Network, will focus on the energy sector. Presentations will focus on various topics in the energy sectors at both the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank at their headquarters in Washington, DC.

- ENERGY generation, transmission and distribution projects;
- regulatory issues in energy efficiency distribution;
- energy and training;
- clean energy;
- energy and the environment;
- energy projects and indigenous peoples;
- public/private partnerships;
- using MIGA to mitigate risks in energy projects;
- lessons learned from Bank projects;
- World Bank and IDB priorities in the energy sector.

Objectives of the Mission
- To initiate dialogue between Canadian Firms and the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank officers responsible for energy sector projects.
- To create a high level of awareness on the part of the Canadian firms of the projects requirements and constraints, and of their level of competitiveness in accessing bank projects and bank-financed projects and programs in the area of energy.
- To inform World Bank and Inter-american Development Bank staff of the capabilities and interests of Canadian firms in the sectors of education and health.
- To initiate and maintain working relations with representatives of the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank.
Mission Program
The following is a tentative program and is subject to change. The cost of the Energy Mission to Washington DC will be C$350.* Registration includes the participant fee to the Inter-American Development Bank Seminar as well as lunch on Wednesday and Thursday.
