The District covers approximately 6,349 km2 and extends through eight rural municipalities in southwestern Manitoba including Argyle, Strathcona, Riverside, Whitewater, Glenwood, Oakland, South Cypress and Cornwallis. Three communities also support the district, including Glenboro, Wawanesa and the Town of Souris. The major waterways flowing through Assiniboine Hills CD includes the Souris River, Pembina River, and the Assiniboine River. The AHCD offers a wide range of water and soil programs, including the sealing of abandoned wells, off-site water programs, species at risk protection, public education, and riparian fencing programs.
