Little Saskatchewan River Conservation District (LSRCD)

Little Saskatchewan River Conservation District Maphe LSRCD was established in 1999. The District covers approximately 4,230 km2 (1,633 miles2) and is located in southwestern Manitoba. Including current expansion, the District occupies all or parts of the RMs of Daly, Blanshard, Saskatchewan, Harrison, Strathclair, Park South, Minto, Odanah, Rosedale and Clanwilliam. It also includes the Towns of Minnedosa, Rivers, Rapid City and Erickson. Holistic resource management is the overall objective of the District with the primary focus being soil and water conservation. There is also significant emphasis placed on educational initiatives in schools and publicly throughout the District. Some programs include constructing headwater dams and grassed runways, capping abandoned wells, forage seed assistance, riparian pasture management, tree planting projects and sustainable beaver management.
