West Souris River Conservation District (WSRCD)

West Souris River Conservation District MapThe WSRCD was incorporated in 1995. The District covers approximately 3,593 km2 (1,387 miles2) and is located in southwestern Manitoba. Participating RMs include Albert, Edward, Pipestone, Sifton, Cameron and Wallace. An active and diverse water and soil management program continues within the District. Some programs include water storage initiatives, sealing abandoned wells, well development, riparian management, shelterbelt construction, forage rotation, no tillage and habitat conservation initiatives. Education and awareness are also a high priority. Aquifer and watershed planning have been initiated within the District as well.
