An initial draft of proposed revisions to Manitoba's water quality objectives was released for review and comment in April 2000 and was then followed by distribution of a technical draft for further review and comment in February 2001. Many helpful and constructive comments were received during these two review phases. Wherever possible, these comments were incorporated into the present document. An overview of all comments along with responses to these comments is available in the Department's public registries and can be downloaded (MWQSOG 2002 Responses to Comments.pdf).

While the present version has been greatly improved through incorporation of many of the reviewer's comments, it is important that the most recent changes also be subject to further review. Therefore, an additional review phase extending to March 31, 2003 is now offered to again seek input from the general public, the scientific community, and affected stakeholders.

Copies of the final draft can be downloaded (MWQSOG 2002.pdf) or hardcopies may be obtained from dwilliamso@gov.mb.ca. An associated Excel spreadsheet (MWQSOG 2002 Calculations.xls) is also available for download to assist with the calculations required for a number of water quality objectives.
