Ag Action Manitoba Program for Farmers 

The Ag Action Manitoba program offers activities for farmers that support the growth and sustainability of primary agriculture in Manitoba. 

Eligible farmers, including young and beginning farmers, can  apply to these program activities:

  • Training and Consulting: includes skill development courses and training events related to transition or succession, farm risk management, and financial management. Also, includes initial professional consulting services for transition and succession planning, and human resource management and in-depth professional consulting services for financial planning and analysis. Applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
  • Distribution and Marketing Alliances: supports projects that develop and enhance distribution networks and collaborative marketing of primary agricultural products.  Deadline for application is Monday, October 1, 2018.
  • Assurance: includes equipment, services and other resources that increase the adoption of production, food safety, biosecurity, traceability, plant and animal health, animal welfare, farm safety and risk management practices that lead to growth and sustainability in agriculture. Each year, funding will be targeted to specific sectors and focus areas.

    Deadline for applications is Friday, September 14, 2018 for the first year in these focus areas:
  • Assurance: Beneficial Management Practices: help farmers implement and adopt beneficial management practices (BMPs) on their farm identified in their Environmental Farm Plans. Deadline for application is Monday, September 3, 2018.
  • Research and Innovation: consists of two funding streams – basic and applied research and development, and strategic innovation investment related to capacity-building. Deadline for letter of intent is Friday, August 31, 2018.
