Economic Development

Several types of assistance are available to Manitobans who want to take a more active role in community and economic development. These programs benefit entrepreneurs and community leaders, who all play an important role in the future of rural and northern Manitoba.

Financial programs

Partner 4 Growth encourages partnerships between the province and rural Manitoba communities to provide families with more opportunities and jobs.  This program will help Manitoba communities pursue opportunities to strengthen and diversify local economic activity.  Grant recipients and approved projects for 2014 -2015.

Hometown Manitoba helps rural and northern communities enhance public places and building exteriors. The program also promotes unique identities and themes that define a community.

Rural Entrepreneur Assistance Program is designed to improve access to capital for full-time businesses (small commercial and home-based) in rural Manitoba. The program provides loan guarantees to financial institutions that are prepared to offer these businesses the financial support they need to be successful.

Commercialization Support for Business helps entrepreneurs in all sectors and all regions of Manitoba by supporting product and process commercialization and business development. 

Community Enterprise Development (CED) Tax Credit Program provides a tax incentive to stimulate investment in community-based enterprises.
