Suspension Bridge

Designation Date: February 8, 2000
Designation Authority: R.M. of Franklin
Present Owner: Emerson-Franklin (M)

Built in the 1930s to allow children to cross the Roseau River to get to Senkiw School, this suspension bridge is one of only a handful of such structures remaining in Manitoba. This example is notable for its impressive support mechanisms, which ensured that the cables used as the bridge's main structural component could be kept taut.
