Business Transformation 

Business Transformation guides Departments through their transformation of People, Process and Technology Initiatives allowing Departments to more closely align their business strategy and vision to support and help innovate new business strategies and meet long term objectives. Business Transformation provides this guidance through the use of good business practices, tested methodologies, and tools. The following are the services provided by Business Transformation:

Project Management Office (PMO) provides Project Management resources, a methodology, and tools to ensure the successful completion and delivery of ICT Projects that meet the agreed upon customer requirements.  The PMO has established a methodology, which is based upon PRINCE2 and PMI and is aligned with BTT’s Program Requirements Enablement Process (PREP), to guide Project Managers through the Project Management process.  The PMO also coaches and supports Project Managers on the application of its PM Methodology and the use of its associated tools and templates.  Through the consistent use of its methodology, the PMO is able to report on the health of Manitoba’s ICT projects to Executive Management within BTT as well as within the Departments. 

Surveying is a method of gathering online information from a specific audience or a random sample of individuals, where the goal is to determine a general opinion and / or opinion on specific matters.  Business Transformation will assist in the design, administration, and analysis of survey results. 

Identity Management and Authentication (IdMA) involves both technical and business processes to help ensure safe and secure service transactions. It is a way to distinguish legitimate citizen and business customers.  It enables the exchange of personal information for use by multiple programs or parties.  It allows for secure sign-on to networks to conduct transactions, while maintaining privacy. Business Transformation and Technology is leading Manitoba’s IdMA activities to establish a corporate approach to managing and authenticating identity in online services, and to help government program business areas to better understand their IdMA needs and related risks.
