  • Forest Park School has been working in partnership with our parents to promote healthy snacks and lunches for our children.  Together we have implemented a fruit or vegetable (only) snack in the morning and healthy lunch choices for student lunches.  We wanted to ensure that this information was being received by our new immigrant families as well so we hosted an evening for all parents to educate families about healthy food choices.  A Community Health Worker was able to join us and provide a presentation about the Canada Food Guide and how to make healthy food choices on a daily basis.  We also provided recipes, information pamphlets and contact resources for all families who were in attendance.  The evening was a huge success and we continue to see that our families are choosing healthy snacks and lunches for their children.
