Details:

This year we have started a new "Healthy Snack/Grow Food Program" to support all of the students who come and visit our school each week.  On a daily basis we provide healthy snacks in the morning and afternoon to any and all children in the building.  Our "Breakfast Program" Educational Assistant prepares and helps distribute the snacks to any student wishing to have one. We also have a variety of preschool programs at our school and the program offers a healthy snack and education ideas to parents as well, during the program.  Many of our grade 5/6 student helpers aid in preparing the snacks for our preschool visitors and their families.

We are also starting a "Play and Stay" program in January on Saturday afternoons for parents and their children of Ruth Hooker School and a "Healthy Snack" will be incorporated into this program as well.
