DESCRIPTION OF
DEPOSIT
The deposit is situated within pegmatite dykes and quartz veins
occurring in Archean metavolcanic rock, close to a contact with a porphyritic
granite. A 4-foot wide pegmatite dyke, striking N 60° E and dipping slightly to
the southeast, contains molybdenite in lamellar masses up to 2 or 3 inches in
diameter and in scales and small crystals. Where a very acid layer cuts across
the dyke, fine grained molybdenite occurs as clots, several inches in diameter.
A flexible greenish coloured mica is prominent in parts of the dyke.

HISTORY OF
EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT
The deposit is located approximately one mile north of the west end of
Falcon Lake. The Gull claim was staked by Jas. Cuddy in 1917 probably for
gold. Molybdenite crystals were hand-cobbed during World War I until the high
grade material was exhausted. In places the molybdenite content was estimated to
run as high as 1%.
This property has been restaked many
times.

As of 1925, two small pits and four shallow
open cuts had been made on the Gull property. The longest open cut was 37
feet. A total of 60 tons of rock had been mined.
HISTORY OF
PRODUCTION
As of 1925, the total production from the Gull and Tom Boy (Mo
6) properties was ½ ton of 10% ore from 250 tons of rock mined. In addition, 200
pounds of pure flake molybdenite was distributed for sample purposes.
