Safety Officer Program
The Safety Officer Program was created in 2015 as a result of the dismantle of the Band Constable Program that RCMP had.
What Safety Officers Do
- implementing crime prevention strategies and initiatives.
- connecting social service providers with persons in need.
- conducting community patrols and maintaining a visible presence within the community.
- facilitating the response of members of the local policing authority to situations that require police involvement; and
- providing information to the local policing Authority
