INMATE VISITS
Getting approval to visit
To visit an inmate, you must first be added to the Manitoba Correctional Services Approved Visitor Listing. To get on this list you must fill out:
Review the Inmate Visiting Application carefully. It includes important details about what you need to do to become an approved visitor.
Once your application is approved, it stays valid for 12 months. During that time, you’re allowed to visit any Manitoba Correctional facility.
If you want to visit more than one inmate, you must fill out and submit a separate application for each person.
We won’t process applications to visit people who aren’t currently in custody at a Manitoba Correctional facility.
After you submit your Visiting Application form, it may take up to 15 business days to process. We try to handle all applications within that time, but delays can happen if we receive a lot of submissions.
Make sure you complete the Inmate Visiting Application fully and write clearly so it’s easy to read. If you don’t follow these steps, your application might be delayed or rejected.
Your completed Inmate Visiting Application can be:
- emailed to inmatevisits@gov.mb.ca
- dropped off at any of the Manitoba Correctional Institution
- postal mailed to: INMATE VISITS
810-405 Broadway
