Youth correctional centres in Manitoba provide custody and a variety of programs for young people charged with offences and/or sentenced to custody under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
Manitoba Youth Centre
Manitoba Youth Centre (MYC), the largest youth correctional centre in Manitoba, is located at 170 Doncaster Street in Winnipeg. It has a rated capacity of 105 males and 45 females. Youth admitted to MYC have been charged as young offenders. They are held in custody until the courts make a decision on their charges.
