Province Wide
  • Nature Manitoba hosts a variety of guided and self-led outdoor tours throughout the year (ex: cross-country skiing, hiking, canoeing).
  • International Trails Day is an annual event held in the first week of June. Trails Manitoba, Rivers West Red River Corridor Inc. and Winnipeg Trails Association host events throughout Manitoba.
  • Commuter Challenge is an annual event held in the first week of June. It is a celebration of active, sustainable transportation that is also a friendly competition between Canadian cities and workplaces. Across Canada, people are challenged to leave their cars at home and commute by walking, cycling, carpooling/ride-sharing, riding the bus or telecommuting. Commuter Challenge week currently takes place in Winnipeg and Brandon. To organize an event in your community, contact Green Action Centre, the co-ordinators of Commuter Challenge in Manitoba.
  • Triathlon Manitoba, Manitoba Cycling Association and Bike to the Future have information about AT events throughout Manitoba.
  • Clean Air Day is an annual event held on the second Wednesday in June, during Environment Week. This event encourages children to celebrate walking and cycling as means to reduce environmental impacts like air pollution.
  • International Walk to School Month or ("IWALK") gives schools a chance to promote walking to school for a day, week, or the entire month of October. Classroom resources are available, as well as the chance to win prizes upon registration and participation.
  • Bike to School Month is an annual event held during the month of May to promote cycling to school and cycling safety. Classroom resources are available, as well as the chance to win prizes upon registration and participation.
In Winnipeg
  • Bike Week Winnipeg is an annual event held in June. The event aims to celebrate cycling culture in the city. It also promotes cycling as a safe and viable transportation choice in Winnipeg.
  • Ciclovia is an annual active transportation and healthy lifestyles festival, hosted by Winnipeg’s Downtown BIZ. Held in the second weekend of September, the festival includes a network of temporary car-free streets from Assiniboine Park all the way to The Forks.
