Safety Information

Manitoba Public Insurance has road safety programs and resources for vulnerable roads users including children, the elderly, all pedestrians, inline skaters and cyclists. 

Manitoba Coalition for Safe and Active Kids encourages children and youth to use protective equipment (helmets, wrist guards) and promotes awareness of injury prevention during recreational activities such as cycling, skateboarding, swimming and ice skating. The Active and Safe Kids Manitoba program has resources and safety tips for cycling and skateboarding.

  • Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) has road safety tips for drivers and cyclists. For drivers, these include step-by-step instructions for sharing the road safely with cyclists at intersections, turns, passing and changing lanes.
