Council Members Guide: Once Elected...What is Expected? (2018-2022)

The Council Members Guide: Once Elected ... What is Expected? provides an overview of what council members will encounter during their term of office. The guide highlights key matters, such as the roles and responsibilities of councils and administration, conflict of interest, public participation in decision making and council’s role in financial management.

As elected local governments, Council will be charting the future course of their municipalities and will be making decisions that affect every citizen and property owner in their communities. New and returning members alike will find the guide to be a helpful resource in assisting them to make a positive and lasting contribution to their municipalities.

The guide was developed in partnership with the Association of Manitoba Municipalities.
