William H. Cockburn

Early Days

William Hastings Cockburn was born December 23, 1902 in Toronto, Ontario. His parents, Francis Cockburn and Marion McDonald moved the family to Winnipeg when William was still young. The Cockburn family lived on Purcell Avenue, in the Winnipeg neighborhood of Wolseley. William was active in a variety of sports including lacrosse, baseball, rugby, and of course, hockey.
