Casual Aircraft Hiring

The Manitoba Wildfire Program casually hires both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft to respond to provincial forest fire activity. Companies that are interested in providing these services are required to complete and submit a standing offer that provides their rate and hire information in advance of the fire season.

The 2019 fixed wing requirements can be found here (2019 Fixed Wing Cover Letter) which provides instructions and deadlines to complete the 2019 Fixed Wing Flying Offer. Aircraft duties may include fire detection, transport of fire personnel or equipment, water bombing, bird dogging and other related fire suppression or Manitoba Sustainable Development department activities.

The 2019 rotary wing requirements can be found here (2019 Helicopter Cover Letter) which provides instructions and deadlines to complete the 2019 Helicopter Flying Offer. Helicopter duties may include transport of fire personnel and equipment, bucket operations, loaded patrols, infrared-red scanning and other related fire suppression or Manitoba Sustainable Development department activities.

Heavy equipment duties may include building fire guards, land reclamation, transport of fire personnel, transport of equipment, water supply and other related fire suppression or Manitoba Conservation branch activities.
