Migration Celebration
Thanksgiving Weekend
October 5 – 8, 2018
Help us bid farewell to our migrating friends this weekend by joining us at the Alfred Hole Goose Sanctuary! The Visitor Centre is open 10:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Friday through Thanksgiving Monday. Drop by during open hours for coffee, crafts and observing wildlife up close. Be sure to join us for these special events:

  • Wildlife Rehab – Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Visit with live wildlife ambassadors from the Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre and discover how you can help injured wildlife.
  • Fang Fest - Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Help us build habitat for bats and protect them from the threat of white-nose syndrome by building your own bat box to install on the grounds of the Goose Sanctuary.
  • Thanksgiving Bird ID - Monday from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  Learn to identify some of the birds that call the Goose Sanctuary home, then become a citizen scientist and venture out onto the grounds and catalogue them to the iNaturalist mobile app.
