Tooling Up for the Trades

Electrician Fact SheetAs part of its Essential Skills strategy "Tooling Up for the Trades", the Apprenticeship Branch has created Fact Sheets to give learners, adult educators and career counselors an overview of the Essential Skills needed for trades-related work and technical training. The Fact Sheets are simplified versions of the HRSDC profiles, and form the basis of the Apprenticeship Branch's diagnostic assessment packages.

The Fact Sheets can be used to educate potential apprentices on the requirements of technical training, guide career paths, or make adult upgrading more relevant to trades people.

Click here for a sample Fact Sheet that outlines the reading, writing, calculating, thinking and interacting skills Electricians use to practice their trade.
