Watchable Wildlife Manitoba

Northern Region

Manitoba’s rugged Northern Region is something everyone should experience at least once in their life, but be warned—you will want to go back again. From polar bears to beluga whales to Ross’s Gulls, Churchill is an opportunity of a lifetime for wildlife watching. Then there is the landscape and northern lights.

Churchill’s train station includes a Parks Canada visitor centre where you learn about the history as well as more about the land and its people. A stop into the Eskimo Museum is also recommended. Prince of Wales Fort National Historic Site helps you imagine life here in the 1700s. There is so much to do and see in Churchill you will need days to do it all.
