2012 National Public Service Week Blood Donor Clinics - WinnipegDid you know?
- Only 3.7 percent of Canadians donate blood.
- The number one reason most Canadians don't give blood is "nobody asked them".
- 1 in 2 Canadians are eligible to donate blood, but only 1 in 60 actually do.
- On average, Manitoba only has a 4-day blood supply.
- Every minute of every day, someone in Canada needs blood.
- 52 per cent of Canadians say they, or a family member, have needed blood or blood products for surgery or, for medical treatment.
- Our smallest donor group are those individuals aged 25 - 50 years old.
Celebrate our commitment this year by joining your fellow public servants in giving the gift of life. If you have never given blood before, please take this opportunity to consider stepping forward and roll up your sleeve to donate during national public service week. New donors are urgently needed.
Please consider helping us reach our goal of 75 donors, with 25 being new donors this year.
National Public Service Week will have shuttles available on the dates below. Please contact the volunteer listed to reserve your seat on the Life Bus.

A "What's Your Type" blood typing event will be held on Monday, June 14 at the Forks during the opening ceremonies from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Come out and determine your blood type!
Regular shuttle users that are scheduled in June, but not during Public Service Week, will still be counted in the final results. Donations must be made at our main locations at 777 William Avenue in Winnipeg and 800 Rosser Avenue in Brandon. Please identify yourself if you are a public service employee to make your donation count.
