What is Manitoba Access Awareness Week (MAAW)?

The Province of Manitoba proclaimed June 3 to 9, 2012, Manitoba Access Awareness Week (MAAW).

MAAW raises awareness of the barriers people with disabilities face that impact their full participation in society and promotes the removal of these barriers. We do this by celebrating people with disabilities, organizations and businesses that are providing leadership in making Manitoba a more inclusive society.

In 2012, MAAW activities are overseen by a Steering Committee composed of representatives from community organizations, Age-Friendly communities and the Disabilities Issues Office.
