A byelection has been called in Manitoba and will be held on Tuesday, June 13 2017.

As per The Election Financing Act, there is a 30 day blackout period before a byelection that limits public communications by government.

What does this mean for your communications projects?

There are limited exceptions for communications during blackout periods. For any communications contemplated during the blackout period, you must follow the steps below:

  • identify the requestor
  • type of communication request
  • review the exceptions and select the applicable one, and provide a full explanation of the request and how the exception applies.
  • Click on the print pdf file button within the form to generate a PDF file.

2. Send the pdf file to your Deputy Minister for signature.

3. Once signed by Deputy Minister, send a scanned version for approval to Communications Services Manitoba: Webeditor@gov.mb.ca.
