Acute
Program
Admissions
The Acute Program assists individuals experiencing new onset or exacerbation of symptoms of major mental illness to attain psychiatric stabilization and a level of functioning that allows them to return to their community.
Our team includes psychiatry, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, dieticians, recreation therapy, medical physicians, nurses and psychiatric nursing assistants. Patients have access to Spiritual Care (Chaplain and Aboriginal Elder) and Aboriginal Services. Using a multidisciplinary approach we offer life skills, illness awareness, relaxation, coping skills, mindfulness, creative expressions and cooking groups as well the vocational incentive program and CODI (substance abuse co-occurring with mental illness).
