Going for Gold

Throughout the tournament, team U.S.A. had also been playing very well, so it all came down to the February 13, 1932 final game of Canada vs. the United States. Once again, the game was a tight match and went into overtime. Throughout the course of the tournament, Cockburn had only allowed four goals in net against Canada. The last of these goals was during the gold medal match and resulted in a tie game between teams Canada and U.S.A! However, Canada had more wins overall, and therefore the 1932 Olympic Winter Games Goal medal for Ice Hockey went to Canada and the dedicated efforts of the men from the Winnipeg Senior Hockey Club!
