The aim of the Virtual Reference Desk is to present an authoritative evaluated collection of Internet sites that complement the Manitoba Legislative Library's collections.

What is the Virtual Reference Desk?

The Internet links chosen for the Virtual Reference Desk are limited to several broad subject areas of interest to Government of Manitoba staff. These are government, law and politics; current news and research sources. Canadian sources are especially important.

The links are almost exclusively external. While every effort is made to assure accuracy of the URLs given here, the Library is not responsible for the contents of these sites nor for their continued availability.

Who can use the Virtual Reference Desk?

It serves the primary clients of the Manitoba Legislative Library: the Legislative Assembly Members and their staff as well as the employees of the Manitoba government. Although certain services are restricted to this clientele, any Internet user can benefit from this collection of evaluated sites.

Who maintains the Virtual Reference Desk?

The staff of the Manitoba Legislative Library evaluates and selects mostly Canadian sites based on the authority of the creator, the currency of the information and the reliability of the site. If you cannot find the answers you need, the Library staff will be happy to help you.
