Toutes Aides Roman Catholic Church

Designation Date: June 26, 1990
Designation Authority: The R.M. of Lawrence
Present Owner: The Roman Catholic Archiepiscopal Corporation of Winnipeg

Toutes Aides was established as a Métis fishing camp in the 1840s and by the late 1800s was a thriving community. The original community was Roman Catholic and the construction of this church, which began precisely at 8:00 a.m. on April 23, 1935, fulfilled a great need. The tall and heavily articulated tower, huge nave and small transepts are all clear expressions of the architectural roots of this church: the Quebec parish church of the nineteenth century.
