Pipeline Fuel Distribution - Temporary Permit

Attention Manitoba Fuel Carriers:

In response to the recent Imperial Oil announcement that a portion of Manitoba’s fuel distribution pipeline requires repairs, Manitoba Transportation Infrastructure (MTI) is offering a temporary permit for hauling fuel at increased loads to support an uninterrupted fuel supply to Manitoban communities during the planned repair period.

The temporary fuel hauling permit will allow Fuel Carriers to carry RTAC loads on PTH 30 from the pipeline terminal near Gretna, Manitoba to the junction of PR 201, where PTH 30 becomes a RTAC route.  Carriers who are hauling fuel on the above specified route can request the temporary permit by calling MTI’s Permit Services Office at 204.945.3961 or toll free at 877.812.0009, or contact the office at permitservices@gov.mb.ca.

There is no fee for the permit, however carriers are required to report the number of loads they hauled using the permit in order to enable the department to assess the impact to PTH 30.
