FAQ - Frequently asked Questions

All reservations for Manitoba provincial park campgrounds and cabin facilities require payment at the time of reservation. By paying for the reservation, the customer agrees to abide by all applicable rules and regulations that are conditions of a camping/cabin permit. The customer also agrees to be bound by the cancellation policies in effect. A non-refundable $7.60 reservation fee applies to all reservations.

Cancellation Policies
We realize that your plans may change after reserving a campsite. If this happens, a call to a customer service representative can take care of any changes that have to be made to your reservation. Web users may cancel their web reservations on-line. Early cancellation allows others to enjoy a great Manitoba weekend!
Camping / Group Use: You can cancel your reservation and collect a full refund on your camping fees (except for the $7.60 reservation fee) if you cancel 4 or more days before your arrival date. If your cancellation occurs 3 days or less before the arrival date, your fees will be refunded except for the first night’s camping fee and the $7.60 reservation fee. Remember, if you don’t cancel your reservation or do not show up, all fees are forfeited.

Cabins: If you have reserved a cabin and must cancel, the deposit fee that you paid at the time of reservation can only be refunded if the cabin is re-booked. The $7.60 reservation fee is non-refundable. Customers are requested to contact the call centre after their original reservation dates to enquire if the cabin was re-booked. If the cabin was re-booked a refund will be calculated and processed on your behalf.

Yurts:
You can cancel your reservation and collect a full refund on your camping fees (except for the $7.60 reservation fee) if you cancel 4 or more days before your arrival date. If your cancellation occurs 3 days or less before the arrival date, your fees will be refunded except for the first night’s camping fee and the $7.60 reservation fee. Remember, if you don’t cancel your reservation or do not show up, all fees are forfeited. 
Changes
A change to your reservation can be made, as long as the change is requested four (4) or more days in advance of your arrival date.   A $1.90 non-refundable fee will apply.  These changes are subject to availability.

You can not alter or change your reservation within 3 days of your expected arrival date or once the reservation has started. If you need to leave early the campground attendant will be happy to refund the unused portion of your stay.
 
Early Departures
These will be handled by the campground office unless this change is called in 4 or more days in advance of arrival.  Refunds are not given for early departures on yurts and cabins.

Late Arrivals
Your campsite will be held until 11 am the next morning, and will continue to be held as long as you are in contact with the park.

No Shows
If you do not arrive by 11 am the next morning, and do not contact the park to advise of late arrival, you will be considered a no-show. Your fees will be forfeit and the site will be made available to the next customer. 

Number of Persons per Site
You are allowed four adults or one family per site.  A family is generally defined as a parent(s), with children under the age of 18. The addition of a grandparent or similar relative is also allowed. All persons must fit into the allowable camping units.

Allowable Camping Units
Each campsite is designed for one camping unit. A camping unit would be defined as a tent, tent-trailer, travel trailer, truck-camper, motorhome or fifth wheel. If space allows, an additional tent and dining tent may also be used.

Number of Vehicles per Site
One motorized vehicle is allowed per site and all other vehicles must be parked in a designated parking area.

Minimum / Maximum Stays
The minimum number of nights that can be booked is one, except during long weekends; then the minimum stay is two nights. The maximum stay is 21 days at the same campsite. The minimum stay at family vacation cabins and yurts is 2 days, while the maximum stay is two weeks.
There are no early departure refunds when a minimum stay requirement is in effect.

7 Night Minimum Stay Sites
Certain sites at select campgrounds are set aside for campers that are interested in longer stays in provincial park campgrounds.
Locations that offer this service are: Birds Hill, Falcon Lake, Hecla, Kiche Manitou, Nutimik, Otter Falls, St. Malo and West Hawk.
Certain criteria does apply and includes a minimum of a Sunday to Sunday reservation. Like other minimum stay requirements, no early departure refunds are issued.
This opportunity is limited until the 1st week in May.
To ensure a peaceful, safe and enjoyable camping experience, all campers are required to follow the guidelines and policies that are established under The Provincial Parks Act and Regulations. Many of these guidelines are available in The Campers Guide which is available in all campground offices.
