Transcript
Letter from John McNab to Alexander Kennedy, 13 July 1806.
HBCA, B.239/b/73, pp. 60-61.

To Mr Kennedy Master at C.H.
Oxford House 13th July 1806

Mr Kennedy
I received yours of 7th June last mentioning the power of your rivals wants of men in such cases must be severely felt your exertions on this occasion are highly commendable – I trust they will be continued and doubt not of their being eventually rewarded.

If men are this year received from Europe you may expect an addition by the fall Canoes which I hope will enable you to act in every quarter against the Canadians.

It is a pity the Indians are so careless about the Swan skins – endeavour to encourage that trade as far as you can.

I observe your requests and shall lay them before the Honourable Committee.
I am
Yours very Sincerely
John McNab
