The results of competitive bidding on August 16, 2006 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Industry, Economic Development and Mines, resulted in a total of $321,450.84 being added to provincial revenue.

All of the twenty-two lease parcels offered, covering 1824 hectares (4,560 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $306,266.84.  The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $167.91 ($67.16 per acre).  The average bonus at the last sale held on May 17, 2006 was $132.68 ($53.07 per acre).  

Silver Hawk Resources Ltd. paid the highest price per hectare for parcels located in the               Goodlands area.  The firm paid $398.44 per hectare ($159.38 per acre) as a tender bonus.

This is the third of four sales scheduled for 2006.  The next sale will be held on November 8, 2006.  The deadline for posting requests is August 18, 2006.
