The results of competitive bidding on February 13, 2008 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Science, Technology, Energy and Mines, resulted in a total of $218,604.23 being added to provincial revenue.
All of the Thirty-three lease parcels offered, covering 2925 hectares (7227.68 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $195,168.07. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $66.73 ($27.01 per acre). The average bonus at the last sale held on November 14th, 2007 was $95.16.
Antler River Resources Ltd., paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Regent area. The firm paid $412.50 per hectare ($166.94 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This is the first of four sales scheduled for 2008. The next sale will be held on May 14, 2008. The deadline for posting requests is February 15, 2008.
Four sales are scheduled for 2008; February 13, May 14, August 13 and November 12, 2008.
